What if Scenarios
I've always liked "what if" scenarios. Even more so if they incorporate my interests like fantasy, warfare, space, aliens, movie characters, super powers: you know all that stuff... Here are some I've flushed out to various degrees:
Many Years Ago my friend Chris Hamming and I wondered if we could go back to Middle Earth with out core group of friends through a portal opening up the Shire at the beginning of the first of Peter Jackson's movies taking modern equipment what would we bring to better help the forces of good win, especially if we had the ring. and were immune to it. After talking for a bit we had to clarify the rules, which ended up being that the portale was the size of a large door and we could only go through it once and only take what we could carry. However, once through we could put the stuff in a cart, or on horses etc. This slide show is my plans as of 3/13/2025 with updated friend's list and equipment.
This is a list I made from Nov. 2020 about which cars I would guy if I was given $1million dollars that I HAD to spend on cars given that the gas, repairs, insurance, etc... was paid for by the government and my neighbors house would be turned into a garage to house them. I think the list has probabably changed some since then, but maybe not too much.
The scenario, last modified in 2020 came from an idea Chris Hamming and I had in which our group of friends had to go the original Jurassic Park Island and rid it of carnivores. It's most the main weapons we'd carry and how we would arrange our team and cover ourselves. I might have to update it soon as I don't know that I would count on 40mm launchers for the T-Rex's much anymore as I don't want them that close perhaps, though I think a good hit with a 40mm HE round would do it.
The Scenario is from about 2019, but has been thought about many times (probably by many people). It's what weapons, and some gear, I would take if battling slow zombies, and later the same idea but with fast zombies. Some of the choices might need to be rethought, but I think it's probably pretty good, just not as strong of conclusions as I could have with a little more time.
