50th Birthday Party
A big huge enourmous thanks goes out to Chris Decean and Mai for planning and throwing this amazing party for all of us. I am so impressed by Chris's picture collages. and they really nailed the food too. Great food and the amount was perfect, we JUST ran out after people left.
This is perhaps the most surprised I've even been in my whole life. For a bit it seems reality didn't work. It seemed like I was dreaming or had a psychotic break. I told a few people that if an alien was standing in the room I don't know that I would be more surprised (though probably more scared). If you want to show someone a picture of a relatively sane person having a surprise that unraveled their reality for a bit, you can use this one. That's why I stood there so long, it took a while to get my senses back.
Me, trying to figure out what on earth is going on...
The wall of people in front of me breaking up.
Dad getting ready to hug wify.
Eric, said something cool the next day. He said that my little speech about how I am so happy to have so many amazingly great people that I've gotten to know in my life seems accurate and that he was really impressed talking to Mike, Phil and Mark and so on and that they all seemed like really interesting , cool, and great people.
Good picture of Phil and I.
Mai later pointed out that I am going more grey than most of my friends. It that then more of a Steve Martin or a George Clooney thing for me...?
There very cool guys. I am happy to have such divergent and interesting friends like these guys.
Here's a picture Jared sent me. I am giving the answers to my test and everyone is listening with rapt attention...well my wife is! Congradulations to the people who did the best, which I think was Herb and Sara. Also, I wish I has more time to talk with the Decean family: they are wonderful.
Giving more answers to my "only" 22 question test. There was going to be about 40 questions with topics more diverse topics. Oh, well...have to wait until my 55th.
Even "Month Bunny" was listening!
Now you see where I get it from.
Easily one of my favorite pictures from my recent life. A picture of Maria Algee, life-long dear friend. In Kurt Vonnegut's book Cat's Cradle there is this idea from the fictional religion, Bokononism, that you are linked with certain people throughout your life. This group of people are linked in some sort of cosmically significant way and the group of them are called a "karass." Part of you life goal if figuring out who is in your karass. I figured this one out years ago.
2 wonderful women and one of the big hits of the party.
To of the big hits of the part: that cute little girl and the backyard. See that, Mai's still carrying that "big hit." Mom, Marie, nex to Mai seems fine having her hands in her pockets. Thanks Eric for putting up lights. And good job, Sam cleaning it up so well having no clue that there would be a party later that day.
Backyard was looking good
Thanks for everything Chris.
Kind of cheesy...but I woke up the next day feeling so happy and loved. I was laying there and wanted to take a picture of how I felt so I took a selfie. I love you all back. Thanks, Sam.
